Aquisense Technologies Teams Up with ILT to Deliver a Light Measurement System Optimized for the PearlBeam Bench-Scale Device for UV Research.

AquiSense Technologies is the global leader in UV-C LED systems designed for water, air, and surface disinfection applications. Their PearlBeam(TM) Collimated Beam Device is a table-top system designed to direct UVC radiation onto petri dishes. Collimated Beam Devices are an increasingly critical tool in providing a standardized unit of measurement for UV exposure. "Historically these devices have been expensive, cumbersome, and difficult to operate. Typically these devices have used mercury-based lamps resulting in expensive, cumbersome, difficult to operate, and potentially dangerous systems" noted Jim Cosman, Aquisense's Director of Business Development. Their PearlBeam device employs UV- LEDs and emits radiation in the germicidal range.
Aquisense approached ILT about providing them with a device to work in tandem with their system to measure and monitor the output from the PearlBeam system. "Validation is an important part of any process, and it is always best practice to verify and record intensities before each use," said Jill Fowler, ILT's Director of Light Measurement Systems. The ILT2400 is amply qualified to do the job with it's large memory capacity and internal graphing software that simplify the tasks.
