This exciting role will provide an opportunity to solve problems across several industries, including aerospace & defense, cosmetics & sun protection, lighting, automotive & transportation, image sensors, medical & life science, consumer electronics, telecom, and industrial photonics.


The Senior Electrical Engineer can be located from either the North Sutton NH or Peabody MA office, with semi-regular travel to the other location as needed, especially during the initial training period.

 

Key Responsibilities:

As a collaborative Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Work with a team of driven, supportive, and highly skilled professionals in the development of Labsphere and ILT’s next-generation electrical architectures for light measurement, technical lighting systems, and tunable reference calibration systems
  • Utilize electrical engineering expertise in a multidisciplinary team to design, build, and test new solutions to meet customer requirements and specifications
  • Work closely with and contribute to firmware design in embedded architectures Lead and develop new sensor/spectrometer applications within existing hardware Investigate, propose, and build consensus for future technology solutions and design architectures
  • Lead the effort to improve configuration management from prototype to production

Requirements:

Our ideal candidate brings a wealth of experience and should possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent technical discipline
  • 8+ years of work experience in driving technical solutions in manufacturing and industrial environments
  • Hands-on experience developing tightly integrated electrical hardware/firmware systems from concept through volume production
  • Expert experience of electronics design in both analog and digital domains, including designing with microcontrollers, layout, simulation, test, and verification
  • Experience and drive to plan and implement design process improvements
  • Proficient with hardware debugging tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers
  • Electrical circuit design (low voltage DC such as current regulators, op-amp circuits, communication busses, etc. Some AC power systems)
  • Communication protocols such as RS232, USB, RS485, I2C, UART, SPI
  • Excellent skills in planning and communications, strong analytical capabilities, and an attention to detail
  • People-centric focus with the ability to collaborate with all teammates across the organization
  • Strong initiative, work ethic, and levels of enthusiasm
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, innovation, and the ability to motivate, inspire, and influence cross group/functional teams with a high degree of independence and success

  • Preferred: Experience and drive to plan and implement team design process improvements
  • Preferred: Experience with Altium is preferred but we will train if candidate has other experience
  • Preferred: Experience in photonics, spectroscopy, optics, lighting or LED applications
  • Preferred: Experience with low signal to noise measurement and circuit design
  • Preferred: Experience in embedded firmware and application, deployment, and development
  • Preferred: Programming knowledge in MATLAB, Python, Linux, LabVIEW
