Light Detection & Measurement and Specialty Light Source Expertise That Spans 6 Decades
Peabody, MA – International Light Technologies (ILT), a leading designer and manufacturer of light measurement and detection systems and specialty light sources, is pleased to announce that 2015 marks the 50th year of continuous operation of ILT, all in Massachusetts on Boston's North Shore.
“Everyone at ILT is extremely proud of reaching our 50th year milestone”, said Thomas Connolly, ILT's President. “The fact that we have prospered and grown as a US-based company in a highly competitive worldwide marketplace is a tribute to our ownership, our employees, and most importantly, our Customers! We have every expectation of continuing to provide innovative light measurement and detection systems and specialty light sources well into the 21st century!”
ILT was originally incorporated on March 20, 1965 in Newburyport, MA as International Light. ILT remained in Newburyport until the mid-2000's when we relocated to a larger facility on Technology Drive in Peabody, MA.
While the manufacture of precision light measurement and detection systems has always been at the heart of ILT's product portfolio, ILT has also added a number of equally interesting and innovative products during our 50 years in business.
In the mid-2000's, International Light merged with Gilway Technical Lamp, another Massachusetts company founded in 1969. The new corporation was re-named International Light Technologies, Inc. (“ILT”).
Gilway Technical Lamp provided specialty light sources for a wide variety of applications in many diverse markets. Combining forces with International Light provided the economies of scale the new company needed to continue to expand its product offering in additional markets.
In the last 5 years, ILT also formed the “LED Innovations Division” to serve markets requiring high quality LED (Light Emitting Diode) light sources and LED lighting fixtures. Markets served include illuminated sign manufacturers with ILT's LED Sign Modules and the Grocery and Convenience Store markets with specially designed LED lighting fixtures for use in reach-in coolers and in gas pump canopies.
